The griddle would not hold a temperature — fine at one end, cold at the other. He measured across the plate element, found one leg dead and swapped it. First even batch of pancakes in a year.
The filter housing had split and water was getting past the sump. He showed me the crack, fitted a new housing and basket, then checked the drain hose loop and the sump gasket while he was under there.
The convection fan started howling and then quit altogether. Right diagnosis, fair price, and the noise has gone. My only grumble is the trim around the fan opening went back very slightly off square.
